Theme of World in Hounding Me
The theme of World in Hounding Me is simply " True beauty lies not in material possessions but in souls." Sor Juana de la Cruz believe that educating and nourishing one's mind is the true way to achieve and appreciate beauty. She despise the act of embracing all beauties that show themselves in front of one's sight. In a brownie example, (I like food...) instead of going to a pastry shop and buy all of the appealing brownies (chocolate, milky, walnut, dark chocolate, those with sprinkles on it, those dusted in sugar, etc.) she would go on Google and type"making brownies" clicking on the recipes and start making them herself. By learning this, she can carry this art of "beauty" around but not embracing those every of those other beauties/brownies she see. Occasionally, she might buy a gold brownie (is there any??) for the sake of it. She embraces only a selective beauty. (Personally, I like sprinkle one more)...In the end, the theme is really trying to tell us that don't simply and fooly plunge into every beauty but select them before you do, or don't date all the hot girls but selectively choose those that are hotter and easier to get...(epic....)
